Meditate on this climate change Zen koan: In the meltdown of shark jaws of ice are we.

I think it is time to shine some non-globally warmed sunshine on one of the most commonly propounded arguments of anti-green house gassers out there. What “Johnny” here states (albeit with help from my spell check) makes a lot of common sense on face value. Humankind’s sustained Industrial-Age fart lasting a few centuries contributes so little CO2 gas to trap the sun’s heat from escaping into space compared to the cud chewing, sheep deep dipping, swamp gas la grippe-ing, permafrost fuming, forest exhaust and bunch grass gassing Mother Nature vents every year.

Man puts out about 8 1/2 gigatons of carbon per year. Earth naturally cycles about 40k gigatons of carbon per year. Our amount doesn’t make a difference.

That’s the great thing about our all-too-common sense. It is common that we see the apparent according to our familiar and surface deep understanding of the universe around and inside of us. Think how long common sense kept people from looking differently at the flat horizon of the world?

Round earth?! Come on! All right, it may not be completely flat because the Bible calls the world a disk. I mean, common sense will tell you it is a disk when you regard a ship sailing off “over” the horizon until even its sails disappear. That’s about all the curve there is in the shield we call Earth.

You say those little lights in the night sky are suns like our own?

Nah! It’s a big dome.

Not only is the Earth a big flat shield but also the sun and the planets arch over it night and day.

Wha?! You say the Earth is round and we fly around the Sun?!!! What common sense thought that up?!

Common sense is — well — common. Intelligence is uncommon, in this world. Intelligence questions. It knocks on the door of our common-sensical givens and opens it to see what’s beyond. Galileo had the uncommon sense to build a telescope and discover beyond human common sense that the earth was round; the sun was at the center of our orbiting solar system of planets, not the earth.

It is good that global warming deniers have lost the common sense to threaten burning modern Galileo’s at the stake for presenting their uncommonly intelligent scientific evidence. Human beings are directly and unequivocally responsible for one of the global thermostat’s most rapid rises of global mean temperatures in half a million years — as per what carbon dating and ice core findings show. This brings me back to Johnny’s attack of all too common sense.

Is our annual contribution to greenhouse gases puny compared to what Mom “Naturale” belches each year? Yes indeed, even after  I’ve lived long enough to see Johnny’s human emission number jump from 7 to 8 billion gigatons. Actually, it is measured in metric tons and not the gi-normous gigaton. The Union of Concerned Scientists measured the CO2 emissions of the top 20 polluters with China and the USA top of the list contributing in 2006 almost 23.2 billion metric tons if I understand their calculations. Nevertheless, despite Johnny’s hyperbole of gig, he is right that our contribution to the world’s CO2 exhaust is comparably small.

The problem is, Johnny and all you other Johns of climate change denial out there, are using your common sense to the problem at face value as one of volume when actually it is a problem of balance.

Earth’s climate is like a set of balancing scales. On the left scale, you have nature’s huge outpouring of Co2 emissions. On the right scale, you have nature’s ability to trap and sink its carbon emission in forests and oceans. When both the vent and the trapping of carbon are equal, your scales stay balanced.

The human contribution to the Left scale is infinitesimal, like a milligram.

Sometimes all you need is a milligram to tip the scales.

Our extra little bit is tipping the scales of climate right now. That is why climatologists call the danger of our global climate going haywire as a “tipping point.”

Do you now  therefore see the common sense in lowering our CO2 emissions?

Hopefully soon, because a gram of human CO2 emission is like the many descriptive meta-forecasts of seers throughout history that predicted our emissions of pollutants as the proverbial straw that could break the back of our camel stupid civilization:

Climate change is natural. What is unnatural is the solid evidence of an exceedingly rapid change in climate taking place since the beginning of the Industrial Revolution. That doesn’t mean the Earth hasn’t experienced sudden climate shifts but the one we are currently riding is human induced and will lead to catastrophe for us. The earth will be just fine. Mother Nature always restores natural balance and even culls its common sense critters who disturb it. If we choose not to use these wonderful brains given us by nature for our souls to master ourselves then she will “extinct” us like any lemming, mammoth or dinosaur.

Is it not time to activate our uncommon sense of intelligence?

Yesterday President Obama reached out to Republican legislators in the House and Senate with one last velvet glove stroke for collaboration in a bipartisan effort to reform Health Care. Today (03 March 2010), before an assembly of doctors and nurses in the White House, standing behind the golden curtain cast in the sunshine Leonine color of his Sun sign Leo, the president gave the opposition a pounding with his chain mailed fist. He issued marching orders with all his presidential authority to his own Democratic Party legislators to do it or get off the pot. Give him health care legislation to sign in two weeks.

Something has happened to the president at the end of February. He seems to be stirring from a yearlong political brain fart I forecasted in Predictions for 2009. The last and loudest hot flatulence about change rather than doing change happened in his State of the Union address at January’s close. Obama seemed unfazed and shameless about delivering almost verbatim the same upbeat gospel of change and airy bromides from a year before, reading from prompters, smiling his best Jimmy Carter toothy grin-through-the-false-start-failures to produce jobs, bank reform, Tort, Tarp and diddlysquat on a number of messianic campaign promises. It didn’t settle well with the American people, his putting on the happy face of change a week or so after he and his party got politically blasted with both barrels. I speak of the special election held in late January to fill the ponderous place of the late Ted Kennedy’s Mass. Senate seat. It went to Scott Brown, a former 1980s male beefcake pin-up nude-cum-Republican, fresh faced with angry voter support from a Massachusetts Tea Party having an irritable ballot movement.

The loss of the Donkey-sacred Kennedy seat to a new highflying Dumbo was politically equivalent to Atheist Comedian Bill Maher succeeding Pope Benedict XVI to the throne of that big and saintly Peter. Those who gave Obama a landslide in Massachusetts in November 2008 sent a message. The message got louder all across the United States in February that the invisible majority of American Independents voting Obama and his party into office could just as easily vote them out of the House and Senate in 2010 and out of the presidency in 2012 if do-do talk kept replacing “do”.

Something has turned around in Obama as last month ended. The lost year of 2009 may not repeat itself in 2010. Astrologers have already been writing in about it. There has certainly been a lot of 12th-house, subconsciously motivated stuff hiding under the Neptunian fog for all of us in the first months of the new year. By mid-February, the Sun (ego ruler) and Venus (relationship ruler) joined Jupiter (expansion, or self righteous ruler) and Uranus (ruler of change or chaos) in the Piscean 12th house.

It has been very woo woo about who we are inside right now. Not just things floating behind a veil of spiritual dreams but also lurking there is our subconscious mind’s inner enemies we either choose not or cannot see. To some degree, health care has been in this astrological-funky place because of all the planets crowding Pisces in opposition to Health Care issues and Obama Care’s house of Astrological significance. The House of Virgo rules health. Obama’s natal Pluto (his connection to the masses and mass movements is in Virgo. Virgo in his birth chart is in the seventh house of communication, relating, talk. His change initiator planet, his natal Mars, is also in Virgo and been under the influence of dream talk over relating and communicating substantive change to the nation. The current transit of Mars since mid December has been making a retrograde pass over Obama’s natal Ego and Mind ruling planet positions (the Sun and Mercury) in Leo. When the retrograde slows down nearly void of course, he can get what needs review about why he lost a year on Health Care reform and other initiatives.

Mars, the ruler of enterprise moving backwards through the sky right now, is giving the president time to assess his missteps. In the second half of February as Mars slowed to a near stationary position in Leo, I believe Obama began seeing his mistake. As you may know from reading me over the years, I forecast that Obama winning the presidency in 2008 could be cause for tragedy and a failed destiny because he had come to his destiny four-to-eight years too soon.

A first year of missteps, empty promises, muddled back door political negotiations seem to support my forecast. He wasted his first year being the 101st Senator legislating whilst sitting in the White House. As Mars stands still in the sky, the Senator in Chief is showing signs of privately confronting that mistake and now we see signs of the former US Senator in Chief becoming the US President in Chief at last. Obama held his historic conference on Health Care at the end of February. Now, today, as Mars sits in 0 degree, waiting to progress forward by 10 March, the President has made his risky political move to make Health Care Reform his bill and not something he bargains and cajoles and compromises out of legislators, as if he was still just a Senator in the crowd. His seat as president, not senator, is now on the line with all the weight of momentum that gives him as the most powerful third tier of government after the Congress and the Supreme Court.

Oddly enough, more odd to me than anyone reading this, my “oracle” continues to see the much-anticipated mid-term retaking of the Congress by the Republican Party as less a reality than a dream. That prescient conclusion makes no logical political sense to me and I will be the first to declare that I am misreading my oracle. Still, I have to report this wild card vision in a year of wild card prophecies — many of which have already transpired since I laid down the forecasts on 1 November 2009 for the eBook Predictions for 2010. Reading the oracle’s weather and natural disaster prophecies has been especially accurate so far. The judgment is still out on whether I am accurately reading the oracle’s political weather forecasts.

One forecast is clearly on track after Obama lowered the gauntlet today. Here is what I logged off back on 1 November for Predictions for 2010:

The Health Care cure will be passed in late 2009 or early 2010…With health care reform’s passing begins in 2010 the long struggle of the people to have provided a healing system free from a care-less business of illness. Legislating reform was relatively quick and easy. Corporations putting monkey wrenched loop holes in the language, far easier. The people of America will have to fight for their health care rights battling special interests every step of the way long after President Obama has left office

I would add that I recorded for the record on several radio shows in January, that I foreseen the Health Care Bill’s passing without the need of a so-called super-majority of 60 seats in the US Senate, “by March.”

Well, March has come and Obama after today’s command to get it done and passed has just given Congress their March-ing orders in the month ruled by Mars after the official start of Spring.

Time for new beginnings and new enterprise.

We may see Health Care passed before Easter. If you haven’t already read Predictions for 2010 you will see how I describe, in detail, how Health Care’s passing, seven months before the mid-term elections influences a Democratic resurgence. This is a result of their being less a party of political jackasses and more a consequence of the Republican Party in 2010 going further down the extreme right wing path of charging rogue elephants — charging away from mainstream voters.

There may be little significant change in who rules the House and Senate in November 2010 except that many old posteriors will be replaced in both parties by new posteriors. Some of them will be independent derrieres warming a direct rebellion against the Demo-Republican duopoly strangling US Democracy. The days of this duopoly are numbered. The revelations coming in November 2012 with its scheduled presidential election may be more significant in our lives than anything widely expected and misinterpreted by end time or new age hysterics for the following month when pies in the sky start hitting the apocalyptic fan as the Mayan Calendar reboots on the winter solstice of 2012.

As promised, I will share with you some of the prophecies I quoted on my Coast to Coast AM appearance back on 27 January 2010 that point to a future civil war or revolution in America. Seers such as Chicago based Irene F. Hughes have pinpointed that we will have a new US Constitution drawn up sometime in the mid-2020s. She did not mention a revolution taking place before this and I certainly hope we can come to this refreshing of American democracy through a measured and intelligent national debate and peaceful protest, if need be. Otherwise if the people grow more and more angry as their leaders advise caution and non-toxic dialogue while not doing or accomplishing anything beyond platitudes and talk, then the following future scenario defined in by these prophets below may be waiting to set fire to the land in less than a decade.

I present these terrible visions like one must sometimes open a wound to the air, so the festering can be exposed and healed, vanishing from the body of destiny because of our healing actions committed in the present.

Inserted note from 02/19/10: My assessment of the above and additional prophecies published in the book since 1998 has not changed — even those assessments concerning Edgar Cayce and Orson Pratt’s prophecies, which come from 1994:

By the year 2026, the Constitution of the United States will be redrafted. The American system of democracy will be unrecognizable to that of the 1990s. But this will not be a negative change. Chicago psychic Irene Hughes predicts that man will live in greater trust and love of his fellow man at that time.

There will be an erosion and breakdown of the American Dream, says Edgar Cayce, when those who lead it proclaim their might and power as being right, when the leaders of this land have brought “many of the isles of the sea and many of the lands” under their influence. A second civil war will come at a time when America as the supreme superpower fears no man or devil. At that time Cayce warns, “in their own land [Americans] will see the blood flow as in those periods when brother fought against brother.” (#2976-24)

In 1939, Cayce gave his future countrymen an alternative to civil war when he warned that if all Americans of every class and color didn’t seek a “universal oneness of purpose” America would suffer a second revolution (#3976-25)…

In the 1870s, Orson Pratt, one of the early fathers of Mormonism, described the coming Balkanization of America would be a war pitting “neighborhood against neighborhood, city against city, town against town, state against state, and they will go forth destroying, and being destroyed. Manufacturing will almost cease, great cities will be left desolate.”

Revolution is unavoidable but it need not be violent. Cayce has expressed the key to unlock a future where bloodshed on the streets of America does not take place. Protest need not be violent to be effective. We have Gandhi’s and Nelson Mandela’s examples in India and South Africa as proof that revolution can be far reaching through peaceful and patient non-violent protest and dialogue.

Where to begin? We are in for Aquarian revolutionary times when the mad act of a man rendered powerless to effect change in his life, come to the end of his temper’s tether, hurtles plane, body and soul into the face of an IRS building in Austin Texas today. What is more disturbing is that much of what he says in his suicide note-cum-manifesto cogently and angrily touches on much of the discontent growing in America from a people feeling ever more disenfranchised and unrepresented by the Democrat-Republican duopoly in service of the new power in the world, the CEOligarchy I first described in Predictions for 2009.

I am a scholar of prophetic traditions. You might call me a historian of possible futures. There are a number of collective visions out there that if interpreted correctly point to revolution in the streets of America no later than ten years from now.

The act of domestic terror by Joe Stack was extreme. Moreover, today’s violence unfortunately chalks up another successful prediction in Predictions for 2010 I hoped would not happen. In Chapter 7, Domesticated Terrorism, I predicted the following logged off on 1 November 2009:

I believe now the window of an overseas-based Muslim terrorist attack is closing as domestic jihad cells replace it. Added to this is a new terrorist danger arising in 2010. Not only from Muslims but white Supremacists, right wing militias. The next great terrorist may be numbered among the angry and unemployable people who disbelievingly watch bankers and CEOs winning bonuses for busting the bank loaning payroll to their jobs. The well-armed American unemployed go out to set a fire or throw a bomb in a CEO limo’s direction.

What the first of these domestic terrorists states in Stock’s “Stark” manifesto (below), are the very issues that may see the American middle class in the 2020s repeat what the French middle class did in 1789: a very bloody and terrifying revolution in the streets of France. They had their own oligarchy of royals and aristocracy who did not listen to their grievances as they bankrupted France until at last when all posturing and talk of change was exhausted, the middle class of France led the masses into the whirlwind of the French Revolution.

Today’s terrible act of violence — one man’s storming of the Bastille with plane rather than pike and musket — could be taken up my masses of Americans in our near future. I fear that unless in the coming decade we the people can make our grievances understood in Washington D.C. we are headed for bloody revolution that will make the loss of life and property of the French Revolution look pale in comparison. And like the decade long French Revolution, it can end in the fascist dictatorship of another Napoleon Bonaparte.

I said as much after appearing on Coast to Coast AM back on Tuesday night (27 January) with George Noory as host. My three-hour interview, which you can download at Coast to Coast AM, took place later that night after I watched the self-narcissistic applauding and back slapping Congress root for or roost grumpily against an often toothy, Jimmy-Carter-grinning President Barack Obama giving his State of the Union speech. Obama without shame reprised verbatim promises of change given a year before and failed to deliver. I said on the show that president and US Congress remind me of king and aristocracy of Versailles, France, ten years out from the French Revolution, in complete disconnect to their people’s troubles, anger and the oncoming deluge. The US President, Supreme Court and Congress remind me of Czar, courts and Russian Duma in the 1900s giving words but little serious action to reforming Russia ten years out from the Bolshevik apocalypse. Do not think it cannot happen in America! Many prophets have foreseen it. On Coast to Coast I read a selection of their visions of the next American Revolution.

I do not promote or wish to see this bloody future happen. The tragic act of one software programmer/engineer who snapped is a warning of what might come in ten short years if the invisible majority of suffering Americans should be left with violence as their only mode left to communicate to a mentally walled in Washington D.C. adrift from democracy.

I pray for a peaceful Jeffersonian Revolution rather than the terror of the French Revolution.

We must work towards a peaceful change as time is running out.

If you’re reading this, you’re no doubt asking yourself, “Why did this have to happen?” The simple truth is that it is complicated and has been coming for a long time. The writing process, started many months ago, was intended to be therapy in the face of the looming realization that there isn’t enough therapy in the world that can fix what is really broken. Needless to say, this rant could fill volumes with example after example if I would let it. I find the process of writing it frustrating, tedious, and probably pointless… especially given my gross inability to gracefully articulate my thoughts in light of the storm raging in my head. Exactly what is therapeutic about that I’m not sure, but desperate times call for desperate measures.

We are all taught as children that without laws there would be no society, only anarchy. Sadly, starting at early ages we in this country have been brainwashed to believe that, in return for our dedication and service, our government stands for justice for all. We are further brainwashed to believe that there is freedom in this place, and that we should be ready to lay our lives down for the noble principals represented by its founding fathers. Remember? One of these was “no taxation without representation”. I have spent the total years of my adulthood unlearning that crap from only a few years of my childhood. These days anyone who really stands up for that principal is promptly labeled a “crackpot”, traitor and worse.

While very few working people would say they haven’t had their fair share of taxes (as can I), in my lifetime I can say with a great degree of certainty that there has never been a politician cast a vote on any matter with the likes of me or my interests in mind. Nor, for that matter.

Why is it that a handful of thugs and plunderers can commit unthinkable atrocities (and in the case of the GM executives, for scores of years) and when it’s time for their gravy train to crash under the weight of their gluttony and overwhelming stupidity, the force of the full federal government has no difficulty coming to their aid within days if not hours? Yet at the same time, the joke we call the American medical system, including the drug and insurance companies, are murdering tens of thousands of people a year and stealing from the corpses and victims they cripple, and this country’s leaders don’t see this as important as bailing out a few of their vile, rich cronies. Yet, the political “representatives” (thieves, liars, and self-serving scumbags is far more accurate) have endless time to sit around for year after year and debate the state of the “terrible health care problem”. It’s clear they see no crisis as long as the dead people don’t get in the way of their corporate profits rolling in.

And justice? You’ve got to be kidding!

How can any rational individual explain that white elephant conundrum in the middle of our tax system and, indeed, our entire legal system? Here we have a system that is, by far, too complicated for the brightest of the master scholars to understand. Yet, it mercilessly “holds accountable” its victims, claiming that they’re responsible for fully complying with laws not even the experts understand. The law “requires” a signature on the bottom of a tax filing; yet no one can say truthfully that they understand what they are signing; if that’s not “duress” than what is. If this is not the measure of a totalitarian regime, nothing is.

How did I get here?

My introduction to the real American nightmare starts back in the early ’80s. Unfortunately after more than 16 years of school, somewhere along the line I picked up the absurd, pompous notion that I could read and understand plain English. Some friends introduced me to a group of people who were having ‘tax code’ readings and discussions. In particular, zeroed in on a section relating to the wonderful “exemptions” that make institutions like the vulgar, corrupt Catholic Church so incredibly wealthy. We carefully studied the law (with the help of some of the “best”, high-paid, experienced tax lawyers in the business), and then began to do exactly what the “big boys” were doing (except that we weren’t steeling from our congregation or lying to the government about our massive profits in the name of God). We took a great deal of care to make it all visible, following all of the rules, exactly the way the law said it was to be done.

The intent of this exercise and our efforts was to bring about a much-needed re-evaluation of the laws that allow the monsters of organized religion to make such a mockery of people who earn an honest living. However, this is where I learned that there are two “interpretations” for every law; one for the very rich, and one for the rest of us… Oh, and the monsters are the very ones making and enforcing the laws; the inquisition is still alive and well today in this country.

That little lesson in patriotism cost me $40,000+, 10 years of my life, and set my retirement plans back to 0. It made me realize for the first time that I live in a country with an ideology that is based on a total and complete lie. It also made me realize, not only how naive I had been, but also the incredible stupidity of the American public; that they buy, hook, line, and sinker, the crap about their “freedom”… and that they continue to do so with eyes closed in the face of overwhelming evidence and all that keeps happening in front of them.

Before even having to make a shaky recovery from the sting of the first lesson on what justice really means in this country (around 1984 after making my way through engineering school and still another five years of “paying my dues”), I felt I finally had to take a chance of launching my dream of becoming an independent engineer.

On the subjects of engineers and dreams of independence, I should digress somewhat to say that I’m sure that I inherited the fascination for creative problem solving from my father. I realized this at a very young age.

The significance of independence, however, came much later during my early years of college; at the age of 18 or 19 when I was living on my own as student in an apartment in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. My neighbor was an elderly retired woman (80+ seemed ancient to me at that age) who was the widowed wife of a retired steel worker. Her husband had worked all his life in the steel mills of central Pennsylvania with promises from big business and the union that, for his 30 years of service, he would have a pension and medical care to look forward to in his retirement. Instead he was one of the thousands who got nothing because the incompetent mill management and corrupt union (not to mention the government) raided their pension funds and stole their retirement. All she had was social security to live on.

In retrospect, the situation was laughable because here I was living on peanut butter and bread (or Ritz crackers when I could afford to splurge) for months at a time. When I got to know this poor figure and heard her story I felt worse for her plight than for my own (I, after all, I thought I had everything to in front of me). I was genuinely appalled at one point, as we exchanged stories and commiserated with each other over our situations, when she in her grandmotherly fashion tried to convince me that I would be “healthier” eating cat food (like her) rather than trying to get all my substance from peanut butter and bread. I couldn’t quite go there, but the impression was made. I decided that I didn’t trust big business to take care of me, and that I would take responsibility for my own future and myself.

Return to the early ’80s, and here I was off to a terrifying start as a ‘wet-behind-the-ears’ contract software engineer… and two years later, thanks to the fine backroom, midnight effort by the sleazy executives of Arthur Andersen (the very same folks who later brought us Enron and other such calamities) and an equally sleazy New York Senator (Patrick Moynihan), we saw the passage of 1986 tax reform act with its section 1706.

For you who are unfamiliar, here is the core text of the IRS Section 1706, defining the treatment of workers (such as contract engineers) for tax purposes. SEC. 1706. TREATMENT OF CERTAIN TECHNICAL PERSONNEL.

(a) IN GENERAL – Section 530 of the Revenue Act of 1978 is amended by adding at the end thereof the following new subsection:

(d) EXCEPTION. – This section shall not apply in the case of an individual who pursuant to an arrangement between the taxpayer and another person, provides services for such other person as an engineer, designer, drafter, computer programmer, systems analyst, or other similarly skilled worker engaged in a similar line of work.

(b) EFFECTIVE DATE. – The amendment made by this section shall apply to remuneration paid and services rendered after December 31, 1986.

Note:

–”another person” is the client in the traditional job-shop relationship.

–”taxpayer” is the recruiter, broker, agency, or job shop.

–”individual”, “employee”, or “worker” is you.

Admittedly, you need to read the treatment to understand what it is saying but it’s not very complicated. The bottom line is that they may as well have put my name right in the text of section (d). Moreover, they could only have been more blunt if they would have came out and directly declared me a criminal and non-citizen slave. Twenty years later, I still can’t believe my eyes.

During 1987, I spent close to $5000 of my ‘pocket change’, and at least 1000 hours of my time writing, printing, and mailing to any senator, congressman, governor, or slug that might listen; none did, and they universally treated me as if I was wasting their time. I spent countless hours on the L.A. freeways driving to meetings and any and all of the disorganized professional groups who were attempting to mount a campaign against this atrocity. This, only to discover that our efforts were being easily derailed by a few moles from the brokers who were just beginning to enjoy the windfall from the new declaration of their “freedom”. Oh, and don’t forget, for all of the time I was spending on this, I was loosing income that I couldn’t bill clients.

After months of struggling it had clearly gotten to be a futile exercise. The best we could get for all of our trouble is a pronouncement from an IRS mouthpiece that they weren’t going to enforce that provision (read harass engineers and scientists). This immediately proved to be a lie, and the mere existence of the regulation began to have its impact on my bottom line; this, of course, was the intended effect.

Again, rewind my retirement plans back to 0 and shift them into idle. If I had any sense, I clearly should have left abandoned engineering and never looked back.

Instead I got busy working 100-hour workweeks. Then came the L.A. depression of the early 1990s. Our leaders decided that they didn’t need the all of those extra Air Force bases they had in Southern California, so they were closed; just like that. The result was economic devastation in the region that rivaled the widely publicized Texas S&L fiasco. However, because the government caused it, no one gave a shit about all of the young families who lost their homes or street after street of boarded up houses abandoned to the wealthy loan companies who received government funds to “shore up” their windfall. Again, I lost my retirement.

Years later, after weathering a divorce and the constant struggle trying to build some momentum with my business, I find myself once again beginning to finally pick up some speed. Then came the .COM bust and the 911 nightmare. Our leaders decided that all aircraft were grounded for what seemed like an eternity; and long after that, ’special’ facilities like San Francisco were on security alert for months. This made access to my customers prohibitively expensive. Ironically, after what they had done the Government came to the aid of the airlines with billions of our tax dollars … as usual they left me to rot and die while they bailed out their rich, incompetent cronies WITH MY MONEY! After these events, there went my business but not quite yet all of my retirement and savings.

By this time, I’m thinking that it might be good for a change. Bye to California, I’ll try Austin for a while. So I moved, only to find out that this is a place with a highly inflated sense of self-importance and where damn little real engineering work is done. I’ve never experienced such a hard time finding work. The rates are 1/3 of what I was earning before the crash, because pay rates here are fixed by the three or four large companies in the area who are in collusion to drive down prices and wages… and this happens because the justice department is all on the take and doesn’t give a fuck about serving anyone or anything but themselves and their rich buddies.

To survive, I was forced to cannibalize my savings and retirement, the last of which was a small IRA. This came in a year with mammoth expenses and not a single dollar of income. I filed no return that year thinking that because I didn’t have any income there was no need. The sleazy government decided that they disagreed. But they didn’t notify me in time for me to launch a legal objection so when I attempted to get a protest filed with the court I was told I was no longer entitled to due process because the time to file ran out. Bend over for another $10,000 helping of justice.

So now we come to the present. After my experience with the CPA world, following the business crash I swore that I’d never enter another accountant’s office again. But here I am with a new marriage and a boatload of undocumented income, not to mention an expensive new business asset, a piano, which I had no idea how to handle. After considerable thought I decided that it would be irresponsible NOT to get professional help; a very big mistake.

When we received the forms back I was very optimistic that they were in order. I had taken all of the years information to Bill Ross, and he came back with results very similar to what I was expecting. Except that he had neglected to include the contents of Sheryl’s unreported income; $12,700 worth of it. To make matters worse, Ross knew all along this was missing and I didn’t have a clue until he pointed it out in the middle of the audit By that time it had become brutally evident that he was representing himself and not me.

This left me stuck in the middle of this disaster trying to defend transactions that have no relationship to anything tax-related (at least the tax-related transactions were poorly documented). Things I never knew anything about and things my wife had no clue would ever matter to anyone. The end result is… well, just look around.

I remember reading about the stock market crash before the “great” depression and how there were wealthy bankers and businessmen jumping out of windows when they realized they screwed up and lost everything. Isn’t it ironic how far we’ve come in 60 years in this country that they now know how to fix that little economic problem; they just steal from the middle class (who doesn’t have any say in it, elections are a joke) to cover their asses and it’s “business-as-usual”. Now when the wealthy fuck up, the poor get to die for the mistakes… isn’t that a clever, tidy solution.

As government agencies go, the FAA is often justifiably referred to as a tombstone agency, though they are hardly alone. The recent presidential puppet GW Bush and his cronies in their eight years certainly reinforced for all of us that this criticism rings equally true for all of the government Nothing changes unless there is a body count (unless it is in the interest of the wealthy sows at the government trough). In a government full of hypocrites from top to bottom, life is as cheap as their lies and their self-serving laws.

I know I’m hardly the first one to decide I have had all I can stand. It has always been a myth that people have stopped dying for their freedom in this country, and it isn’t limited to the blacks, and poor immigrants. I know there have been countless before me and there are sure to be as many after. But I also know that by not adding my body to the count, I insure nothing will change. I choose to not keep looking over my shoulder at “big brother” while he strips my carcass, I choose not to ignore what is going on all around me, I choose not to pretend that business as usual won’t continue; I have just had enough.

I can only hope that the numbers quickly get too big to be white washed and ignored that the American zombies wake up and revolt; it will take nothing less. I would only hope that by striking a nerve that stimulates the inevitable double standard, knee-jerk government reaction that results in more stupid draconian restrictions people wake up and begin to see the pompous political thugs and their mindless minions for what they are. Sadly, though I spent my entire life trying to believe it wasn’t so, but violence not only is the answer, it is the only answer. The cruel joke is that the really big chunks of shit at the top have known this all along and have been laughing, at and using this awareness against, fools like me all along.

I saw it written once that the definition of insanity is repeating the same process over and over and expecting the outcome to suddenly be different. I am finally ready to stop this insanity. Well, Mr. Big Brother IRS man, let’s try something different; take my pound of flesh and sleep well.

A second blizzard of the kind I predicted would presage a record breaking hot summer in North America and Europe is hitting the mid-Atlantic United States. (See snow storm.) Time to go south for the winter in focus back to the question many of you ask: Did Nostradamus foresee the Haiti Earthquake that the Haitian government now claims killed over 231,000 people?

Earthquake prophecies in Nostradamus are frequent. To what times they apply are equally and frequently obscure. Take for example the famous prophecy from Century 9 Quatrain 83:

Sol vint de Taurus si fort terre trembler.
Le grand theatre rempli ruynera,
L’air, ciel & terre obscurcir & troubler,
Lors l’infidelle Dieu & saincts voguera.

The Sun in 20 degrees Taurus there will be a great earthquake,
The great theater full up will be ruined.
Darkness and trouble in the air, on the sky and land,
When the infidel calls upon God and the Saints.

The Sun transits the sign of Taurus hitting the 20-degree mark around 10-11 May every year. Here we have a detailed prophecy about a great temblor leveling either a crowded theater or stadium teaming with people. Power goes out (darkness) and chaos follows. We’ve grown used to infidel being used by Islamic terrorists as a label to mark their human targets. The earthquake, then, could be metaphorical for some earth-shattering explosion of weapons of mass destruction on a May 11th in the future. Given jihadist fascination with the number 11 as a date — World Trade attack on 9/11; the Madrid train bombings on 3/11 — all should be vigilant for an earth quaking explosion any time the Sun is 20 degrees Taurus.

There are other possibilities. Infidel in Latin usually means those who are non-Christians and therefore unbelievers. Thus, Nostradamus could here speak of a catastrophic earthquake so terrible and biblical in proportions that it scares sinners back to God and saint worship.

The mention of saints intends a future quake hitting a predominantly Catholic location. Though no large-scale theater or stadium fell upon the predominantly Catholic citizens in Port-au-Prince on 12 January 2010 (not 10 May) all the other details might match what is going on in Haiti, as they would match any other region undermined and unmanned by the chaos of a large-scale earthquake: the land upended. Great clouds of dust obscure the sky. The air made foul by the stench of the dead. Darkness, the land (country) in trouble and confusion. And so the augury goes…

One of my earliest television interviews held on the roof of the Griffith Park Observatory overlooking the smoggy sprawl of Los Angeles in April 1988, had me fly in from Seattle to debunk growing hysteria and TV ratings-ramping rumors that Nostradamus predicted Los Angeles would be ground flat by a superquake on 10 May that year. I am sure that a number of my colleagues who make their living getting people upset over 2012 cut their teeth and undercut credibility as interpreters of Nostradamus scaring Angelinos not just on 10 May 1988, but 1989, 1999 and a half dozen other Mays throughout the 1990s, requiring my refutation of their claims in the media. None of these predictions for LA’s “Big One” ever happened. None of these interpreters milking press and panic ever explained how they could get it so wrong.

Anyway, as for our interests today, the 10-11 May time window excludes Haiti. We will have to watch what happens on the next 1,787 May 10ths up to the year 3797, when Nostradamus predestined the end of the world. (Sorry Roland Emmerich and Chicken Little, no bang bang in 2012. That year is not even mentioned in Nostradamus.)

The name Haiti was never mentioned in the prophecies; however, there may be other word leads in Nostradamus to find a prophecy about Haiti’s recent quake. As I stated in my last blog, the Arawakan-speaking Taino Indian name for Haiti (Ayiti) means “mountainous land.” Search that phrase or search all usages of mountain, montaignard or mountainous through the 36,000-plus words of Nostradamus and you get many of Nostradamus’ most famous fulfilled predictions, such as 10 Q49’s “hollow mountains” falling in the “new city.” A popular interpretation presents that one for the two towers falling on 11 September 2001 to terrorist attack. A future natural or cosmic disaster in 1 Q69 describes a “mountain,” between 500 and 1,000 feet in circumference, flying down from the sky hitting the ocean and undermining locations where Mediterranean civilization got its start. Other prophecies with related information mark the Aegean Sea east of the Island of Euboea as the impact zone. Again, Nostradamus gives no date, so the jury of 1,787 years is still out.

No mention of “mountainous land” exists in any possible stretch of translation that would fit Ayiti/Haiti.

Next, I search all references to earthquakes. There are many! They mostly play on the French tembler (temblor, trembling, shaking, quaking, etc.). Nostradamus will use other poetic references to temblors and earthquakes, such as travail. After sweeping all possible shake-ups foreseen, this is what I found for Haiti: Nothing.

There are many quake prophecies in Nostradamus with clearly defined geographic locations. Even 3 Q3 locates and perhaps astrologically dates the quake “at the bottom of Asia” responsible for the tsunami in December 2004. None match any locations in the Caribbean.

We’re down to our last French word clues. Could we find evidence for the Haitian quake searching the word Porte or Prince in Nostradamus for the Haitian capital Port-au-Prince?

Nope…

How about Saint-Domingue, Haiti’s colonial name from 1659-1804?

Nope…

What about au Prince for Porte-au-Prince?

PS — Natural disasters accelerate in the Caribbean region with a 5.0 or 6.0 temblors hitting the region nearly every day in the first nine days since the Haitian quake bulldozed Porte-au-Prince and its environs. Yesterday a powerful 6.1 aftershock brought more structures down. Before 1 November 2009, I predicted Mother Nature was about to wage war on humanity, starting with the new year.
