Jan 1:

Alan Greenspan, America's elder statesman of finance and former 18-year head of the US Federal Reserve, claimed in the UK Times that the Iraq War was really for oil. His statement vindicates John Hogue who back in November 2000 accurately predicted and dated the war saying it would begin America's first of many "oil wars."

Nov 19:

Saddam's chilling prophecy: Before Saddam Hussein dangled from a noose he made a chilling prophecy: "When I die so dies Iraq!"; Der Spiegel reports that a new German study issued last week in Berlin still holds hope for an Iraqi federalist system, otherwise, "[Iraq] may fall apart completely." Nov 20: Are we winning??!??!! US fatalities in Iraq have fallen to an all time low. Sectarian violence, terrorist bombings, all down. Sixty thousand Sunni insurgents have come in from the heat, to form militias with US help counterbalancing those of the Shia majority government. Nov 18: My 1994 PROPHECY: The New York Times reported earlier this year that the Bush Administration has broadly expanded the government's authority to eavesdrop on the international phone calls and email of American citizens without warrants. Welcome to the darker side of the Aquarian Age. Back in 1994, I wrote: "Future tyrants won't use the threat of the sword or promises of bread and paradise to conscript believers; they will instead fashion psycho-weapons out of the Aquarian element of atmosphere and mood. And you may not even feel the repression."

Nov 8: Chris Hedges, writing for Truthdig, predicts the war in Iraq will most certainly get worse because of the Democrats' decision to let the Bush Administration's disaster "run its course, while they frantically wash their hands of responsibility. . ." The Republicans stay the course while the Democrats cynically step back to let the chips fall into an abyss. In this way a famous anagram prophecy of Nostradamus may be soon fulfilled with either Usama bin Laden or Ahmadinejad of Iran being the infernal benefactor: "His power [achieved] through the bloody Alus." Alus decodes to "L'USA" (the USA).

Nov 5

Pope Benedict XVI and the Vatican go green this summer. So reports John L. Allen Jr. for the National Catholic Reporter. There will now be photovoltaic panels affixed to the Paul VI Audience Hall. The 108 acre Vatican compound in July 2007 became the first state in Europe to convert to the good news of carbon-neutrality. They're not going to stop belching black or white smoke out of stovepipes to announce elections of popes in the near future, though. Benedict signed off the Vatican's CO2 sins, for a year at least, by preserving Hungary's B¸kk National Park from logging. The pope still rejects contraception so the human population will continue to explode to the tipping point of climate disaster, with his blessing.

Nov 2

Associate Press reports that Iraq's national power grid is in a state of near collapse. A decade of UN sanctions, the destructions ensuing from a US invasion occupation and sabotage of the infrastructure by al-Qaedi and Iraqi insurrections have reduced the Iraqi power grid from decrepit to moribund. With but a few hours of electricity to run the lights, air conditioners and water and sewage systems, Iraq has indeed become what Nostradamus once warned: "A land black and dreadful in aspect."

Oct. 20

Record breaking heat waves and drought beset the Mediterranean lands where Nostradamus lived and journeyed 450 years ago. The French Midi suffers under a half-dozen years of mega drought and record summer temperatures. Greece no longer has a Mediterranean climate but shifted into that of a semi-arid desert with temperatures this month lingering at a blistering 114 degrees Fahrenheit. Great heat and drought in the Mediterranean matches Nostradamus' portend. Soon after such a record-breaking summer heat "hidden fires" exploding underneath the earth comes in "wars and raids."

Oct 15

Aron Heller, of The Associated Press, reports that the United States offered Israel an unprecedented $30 billion of military aid over 10 years last week. A similar deal will help the Saudis upgrade their air force. Did the US balance power between Israelis and Arabs, or arm its proxies to fight Iran?  Get the book HERE.

Global stock markets remain unstable because of persistent worries about US housing loan problems, reports the Associate Press. In 1558 Nostradamus forecast the complete collapse of the global economy would come from runaway inflation, corrupted consumerism and the dissipation of monetary value by an unpaid off global debt. Is he talking about our times?

A new step towards US war with Iran is forthcoming. The New York Times's Helene Copper reports that the Bush administration is preparing to declare that Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps is a foreign terrorist organization. Pre-Columbian Amazonian Native prophecy warns that the rainforests support the sky. Destroy them and global disaster follows. Michael Hopkins of Nature.com reports that global warming will stunt the growth of global rainforests. "The effect could severely erode or even remove the ability of tropical rainforests to remove carbon dioxide from the air as they grow."

Sept 18

Conditioning the US populace continues as Bush administration rhetoric methodically advances its plans to strike Iran. Matt Stearns of McClatchy Newspapers believes "President Bush" is on a "collision course with Congress; however, the Lieberman Amendment in the 2008 US military budget gives official Congressional wording for war with Iran.

Sept 12

In 1994, the future Vice President Dick Cheney predicted in detail the disaster coming if American forces invaded and occupied Iraq. Nine years later in 2003 when he had a key influence in pushing for invasion, he forgot his own prediction.
